Again, this game did not count toward the series and I saw this as an act of great sportsmanship from Hamilton"

It is not in dispute that Hamilton won 10 games. In fact, they were tied neck in neck with Bruisers with a total of 12 games played, 10 of which were wins, 1 of which was a loss (to each other), and one of which was a draw. The resulting outcome was that each team had a total of 52 “super rugby points” as indicated in the TP column. Super rugby points are calculated as 4 points for a win, 2 points for a draw, and 0 points for a loss. Bonus points are awarded for each game in which a team scores 4 or more tries, or loses by 7 or less. As the two teams tied at 52, we had to go to the tie breakers, all of which are outlined in the league bylaws. First tie breaker is head to head competition.

With Bruisers and Hamilton each winning one against each other in the series, that was a tie so we went to tie breaker number 2 which was win total. As outlined, that was also a tie at 10 each. Tie breaker number 3 is point differential, which is where Hamilton pulled ahead.

I think it says a lot about the two teams, and the series as a whole, that we had to go down to the third tie breaker. I have complemented both coaches on this effort and I know both team’s coaches have commented that it was a great series and have a great deal of love and respect for one another.

I take pride in the fact that this league is all very friendly with each other and we all celebrate each other’s success. Kudos to both teams on a great season!

I am happy to elaborate on any of the details of the individual events, as well as the series as a whole if needed. As the Hamilton team walked off the pitch in Stevens Point, mid-tournament mind you, and accepting their second loss of the season to the Madtown Furies, almost every spectator was amazed and disgusted with the move by the Hamilton coach. Apparently, Hamilton RFC didn't want to lose to the Bruisers in the cup match up again.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4795567289883301946.post-30551494320250802252022-06-07T10:02:32.091-04:002022-06-07T10:02:32.091-04:00How does Hamilton with only 9 wins and 2 losses be...How does Hamilton with only 9 wins and 2 losses become season champions when the Brookfield Bruisers had 11 wins and only 1 loss and these two teams split regular season match ups 1 win and 1 loss each.
Hamilton lost to the Bruisers in Pulaski and they lost to Madison at Stevens Point.

If the WGR doesn't look into this I would be a complete disrespect to the team that actually took the championship this year. I had been helping the program for 2 years prior to this fall season, working around my own playing/practice schedule in Chicago, and this fall committed to the head coaching role. We do boast the Dunn twins and Alexandra Murphy from Vernon; Erika Winner, Sara Glomski and Keena that played for Brookfield and/or Pius team that existed, and Tiff Crouse from KM all on the team though! And have alums also from Muskego (Katie Rademacher) and DSHA (Julia Thorne, Tina Gill and more) as well as ther other teams prior mentioned! Having local talent and seeing former WI HS players in our first two matchups is wonderful for growing the game of rugby competitively and for camaraderie. . . . The Ohio Rugby union continues to not list any scores or standing for your girls league, while the boys league seems up to date, making things a little more difficult to figure. We have been able to see st joe,s official school website as listing their conference match with lakewood as a win, while their second match with lakewood is listed as cancelled. Coupled with the league match loss to Parma and a perhaps outdated listed on the Ohio classic website, led to the revised rankings. Regardless, the three Ohio teams mentioned appear to be top notch programs and worthy of note! It appears to be a very competitive league.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4795567289883301946.post-70337315095713298732013-05-10T06:44:24.715-04:002013-05-10T06:44:24.715-04:00Not sure how much Midewest Rugby you actually been...Not sure how much Midewest Rugby you actually been watching or if your facts are just not straight. Lakewood did not lose to a Canadien team at the Ohio Classics as they did not compete there as they instead opted to compete in a Tournament north of the border in Ontario. The loss to Parma was without at least 6 starters due to injury and coaches decisions not to play. The low scoring contested match vs cross-town rival vs St Joe was a match played in severe weather that affected both teams. A bit of fact checking would have lent some credibility to your article or at least given you a benefit of the doubt.

T VonnegutTopher Vonnegutnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4795567289883301946.post-12026818698465505762013-05-09T23:36:37.998-04:002013-05-09T23:36:37.998-04:00KM rebounded to beat Brookfield in the morning poo...KM rebounded to beat Brookfield in the morning pool 3rd/4th game.
