Midwest Select-Side Camps

The Thunderbirds, the Midwest Rugby Football Union's select-side team, is holding a camp at Nagawaukee Park in Delafield, on October 10, 2010 from 11-4.  The camp will be used to select players for the Girls U17 and U19 Select-side, which completes against the other regional select-side teams in a competition organized by USA Rugby.  Participation in the Thunderbirds is one pathway for our local high school girls to earn a spot to represent the USA as a U-20 Eagle, our National team's developmental side.

Interested players should talk to your coaches about this opportunity and to ask for the registration paperwork.  The registration paperwork has been emailed to all area coaches.

Wisconsin players have been well represented on our regional and national teams, as has our coaching staff.  Kettle Moraine coach, Jeff Noe, is the current manager for the U20 National team.

It is hard to believe that we're talking about select-side play, as we are just kicking off our Fall season!  There is a lot of rugby going on in Wisconsin this Fall!
