Week 7 Preview

It's a big weekend for girls and women's rugby in Wisconsin.  The final week of the regular season.

Thursday Oct 18th
DSHA (6-0) v Kettle Moraine (4-2) 4:45pm  Dretzka Park
Regardless of who wins, DS will win the conference championship and play in the finals.  KM will play in the 3rd place State match for a bid to the Midwest Championships. Nonetheless, it's Coach Noe's last regular season game coaching KM, so there should be plenty of emotion involved.

Saturday Oct 20th
Vernon (5-1) v Catholic Memorial (5-1) 10am Vernon Town Hall Park
---The game of the week---
The schedule really worked out this year, as this matchup is essentially the semifinal playoff game that would've occured had there been another week of playoffs, as in the past.  The winner plays DSHA in the state final.  The loser faces KM for 3rd.  The game of the week should be a great matchup of two strong teams.  The teams have some comparable scorelines, but that's always iffy to to use as a barometer.  Vernon tends to score less points with their style, but they are very effective with it.  Vernon lost to conference champs DS 46-8, while CMH lost to DS 27-7.

Sunday Oct 21st
Brookfield v Fond Du Lac 1pm Brookfield Christian School
Brookfield/Tosa looks to get their 3rd conference victory of the season.

Menomonee Falls v Oak Creek 12pm  Thomas Jefferson/Hiawatha
Falls has defeated Oak Creek the last two years in the division ii final.  It's always been a close rivalry and both teams will be eager to show they've improved over the course of the last two months of rugby.  Oak Creek might have more student-athletes on their roster.

Other Women's Rugby:
Saturday 11am and 1pm
The Midwest Women's D2 Playoffs are taking place at the Milwaukee County Sport Complex.

In collegiate women's rugby, UW-Milwaukee hosts Iowa St.

If anyone know's the exact matchups and location info that we don;t have yet ... place post the info in the comments section, our staff reporters are busy covering high school rugby this week!
