Waukesha's Program, the longest-running in the state, is below:
"Tag rugby is a non-contact, coed sport designed to introduce children to
rugby. It is a fast-paced game that is easy to learn and requires no prior
experience to play. Similar to flag football, the rules for tag rugby have
been modified to minimize contact, and “tackles” occur by pulling velcro
tags/flags from a ball carrier’s belt."
Practices begin with basic skills and finish with scrimmages. Sessions are
directed by experienced coaches, parents, and players from local teams.
There will be 3 optional Saturday tournaments where your child will
compete against other Wisconsin teams including Madison, Milwaukee,
Wauwatosa, Menomonee Falls, Appleton, Green Bay, and Fond du Lac.
This year the tourneys will be held on June 29th in Milwaukee, July 13th in
Fond du Lac, and July 27th in Madison.
